The husband and wife duo who left London's 'magic circle' to launch firm 'at home' in Liverpool

The pair are now eyeing a £1m turnover for their firm In-House Legal Solutions

A husband and wife duo who left London-based international 'magic circle' law firms returned home to Liverpool to set up their own industry disruptor - and are now targeting a £1m turnover.

Brian Noon and Lauren Cannon established In-House Legal Solutions in 2017 after identifying a gap in the market to provide a different model of legal solutions to in-house legal teams and businesses.

The firm provides fixed-fee contract negotiation solutions with particular expertise in financial services, as well as solutions to existing legal teams who require additional support but do not want to incur costs of a traditional law firm.

The Baltic Triangle-based business says it has clients including investment banks and pension funds based across the globe - and focuses on growing its team by the recruitment of law graduates as paralegals who are then promoted "through the ranks".

Mr Noon said: “Since launching the business, we have disrupted the legal services market by offering an alternative streamlined, fixed fee model in areas where in-house legal teams require specific support.

“In doing so, we have created a position for ourselves between in-house legal teams and their usual roster of traditional law firms. There are huge opportunities for the business moving forward.”

Last year, the business was shortlisted for the Small Law Firm of the Year Award at the Law Society Excellence Awards - while its first trainee solicitor and legal executive also secured their professional qualifications.
