Leicester estate agency Fothergill Wyatt has offloaded its sales division so that it can concentrate on lettings and property management services.

The business has sold the sales arm to Hortons, which is also based in the city.

Fothergill Wyatt launched in 2010, opening an office in Allendale Road in Stoneygate, and quickly built up its property sales division.

Hortons operates across five counties and has become one of the biggest independent estate agencies in the region.

The acquisition see’s Fothergill Wyatt associate director Jack Hunt join Hortons to further expand the company’s coverage in Warwickshire.

Existing Hortons’ partner Gianfranco Paparozzi, a Stoneygate-based property market expert, will be assisting local clients.

Nicol Nightingale, managing director of Fothergill Wyatt said: “We are pleased to announce the sale of our sales division to Hortons, another independent agency that shares our core values for putting customers first and delivering high quality service.

“This strategic move will allow us to strengthen our focus on building our asset management portfolio and residential lettings department, and then also ensuring, through a collaborative ongoing working relationship, that we can confidently refer sales clients to Hortons, knowing they’ll be in safe hands.”
