A Bristol storytelling and drama company has been named the best children's franchise in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Debutots, on Whiteladies Road, scooped the much-coveted industry award for Best Children's Services Franchise at the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's Best Franchise Awards.

The awards rate franchises on everything from training and support to shared goals and are based on feedback from thousands of actual franchisees.

Debutots offers storytelling and dramatic play, and describes itself as a place to help children between the ages of six months and seven years "build confidence and enhance language, listening and speaking skills".

The company, which was founded in 2003 by Charlotte Salter and franchised in 2007, has linked its curriculum to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's national curriculum.

“These awards mean so much as they are based on confidential feedback from Debutots franchisees,” said Charlotte.

“We are all so proud of Debutots – the branch, the franchise network and all that our programme does to benefit the children and communities we work with.

“This award has provided ratification at the highest industry level for all that we represent and for all that we represent and have achieved."
