Businesses across the 海角视频 are being invited to get involved in an online event celebrating black-owned businesses this week.
Black Business Live 2020 is a one-day livestream broadcast taking place on Thursday, October 22.
The event, which is being organised by consultancy and events business MWC Global and NatWest, will be dedicated to showcasing the positive contribution of black-owned companies to the economy.
The day will involve talks with successful business leaders, a pitching event and entrepreneur panels.
Businesses will also have the opportunity to have a free, 30-second advert played on the day.
Joel Blake, co-founder of MWC Global, said the aim of Black Business Live 2020 is to 鈥渃hange the narrative of black excellence in business鈥.
"Global disruption has created the opportunity to provide a more positive view on what it means to be different and successful," he said.
鈥淏lack excellence has always impacted global culture, from music, to food, to language, to style and much more.
鈥淏ut there is still a need to promote, showcase and celebrate the positive impact and economic contribution of black-owned businesses - in the 海角视频 alone, this contribution is estimated to be 拢25billion pounds a year to the 海角视频 economy.鈥
Speakers at the event include Keith Shayaam-Smith, chairman of The Legacy Centre of Excellence - Europe's largest black-owned business and arts centre; Jamila Davis, senior business development manager for the Greater Birmingham Commonwealth and Transatlantic Chambers of Commerce; and Alex Cole, chief executive and co-founder of Tin Smart Social, a digital skills and talent consulting agency.
Joel said the event aims to foster "positive empowerment" and provide knowledge and insight to support future generations of entrepreneurs and leaders.
He added: "We also aim to enable all communities to learn about the greatness that lies with black communities, not through cultural appropriation, but through the purpose of creating equitable inclusion for all."
