The shortlist for the 2021 Birmingham Post Business Awards can be revealed today.

Companies from sectors such as property, manufacturing and professional services have been named alongside individuals, charities and third sector organisations across ten different categories.

will also crown our overall Company of the Year, chosen from our category winners on the night.

This year's event returns after an enforced break in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic and includes a special one-off Covid Defiance Award for a business which has shown exceptional fortitude in the face of crisis.

The online awards ceremony takes place on June 15.

Birmingham Post editor Graeme Brown was joined on the judging panel by Suzie Branch-Haddow from Birmingham Metropolitan College, Maxine Dalziel from InYourArea, Rebecca Delmore from Millennium Point, Aaronpreet Khatkar from Propel Finance and Kurt Pollard from Barclays.

Mr Brown said: "After what has been a year like no other for the business world, it was heartening to see so many high-quality entries and in particular for our one-off Covid Defiance Award.

"The category attracted the second highest number of submissions so our judging panel decided to shortlist five finalists in recognition of the high level of entries.

"The nomination process has been an incredibly positive experience considering the backdrop of the past 12 months and I am looking forward to congratulating all our finalists and winners at our ceremony in June.

"It's a shame we won't be able to meet in person but I am sure it will be no less of a celebration because of that fact."
