Journal editor Graeme Whitfield, who chaired the judging panel, said: 鈥淎 large part of my day-to-day is following the ups and downs of the North East business community, so I know how many great companies we have in this region. But reading this year鈥檚 award entries really showed the depth and breadth of talent we have in the North East.

鈥淚t鈥檚 great to read about the work being done by our businesses, even if it meant that the judging panel had some really difficult decisions to make. Congratulations to all of our area winners - we鈥檙e looking forward to seeing them in September to find out who will take the overall regional prizes.鈥
