It was champagne all round for industrial equipment supplier Radwell International after scooping the coveted Business of the Year title at the 2022 Stoke-on-Trent BusinessLive Awards.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme business fought off tough competition from Acacia Training, Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld and Swan Brand º£½ÇÊÓƵ for the top award of the night.

It is just one of a number of trophies the company has received in the last 12 months and comes on the back of Radwell's triple win at the 2021 Business Awards.

It was also a cause for celebration for Penkhull-based international technology company Lucideon which won both of the categories it was up for – Innovation in Business and Science and Technology.

Other winners on the night included Stafford IT provider EPX Technical Services, which walked away with the Small Business of the Year award and Habitans Lettings, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme, which took the top spot in the Start-up Business of the Year category.

The High-Performing Team of the Year award was presented to fellow Newcastle-under-Lyme business Sempar Accountancy and Tax, while Hanley haulage firm Danny Poole & Sons scooped the Business in the Community award.

Elsewhere, the International Trade category was won by engineering and product design firm Haughton Design, which is based in Stafford, and Training Excellence went to motorhomes dealer Erwin Hymer Centre Travelworld, which is also based in Stafford, for the second year in a row.

Varicose vein specialist Veincentre, based in Trent Vale, picked up the Growth Award while Rob Sutton from Fenton-based RKW was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year title and Simon Davies, director at Tunstall-based ProtectaPet, was named Young Professional of the Year.

The final award of the night was the Lifetime Achievement Award which was presented to Donald Burton, founder and chairman of Longton trailer manufacturer Don-Bur.

This year's event – which was hosted by ITV weather presenter Emma Jesson – took place at the King's Hall in Stoke for the first time since 2019.

Guests got to enjoy a selfie mirror, 360 photobooth and music from a saxophonist. There was also a silent auction with proceeds going to the Children's Air Ambulance.
