Raspberry Pi founder receives outstanding achievement award at Wales STEM Awards

Founder and chief executive of Raspberry Pi , Eben Upton, has received an outstanding contribution to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) award.

Pontypool-born Mr Upton was recognised alongside 12 category winners at the 2022 Wales STEM Awards.

The small single-board Raspberry PI computer, which is manufactured at Sony º£½ÇÊÓÆµ TEC in Bridgend, has sold close to 50 million devices worldwide.

Hosted by broadcaster Sian Lloyd, the awards celebrate the innovative STEM work being undertaken in Wales - addressing the diversity gap and skills shortage, and inspiring and raising the aspirations of the next generation.
