A private hospitals group which specialises in cosmetic surgery, weight loss surgery and medical aesthetics returned to making a pre-tax profit in 2021 after its revenue jumped towards £50m.

Transform Hospital Group, which runs Burcot Hall in Bromsgrove and The Pines in Manchester, has posted a pre-tax profit of £464,514 for the 12 months to December 31, 2021, up from a loss of £607,163 in 2020.

Documents filed with Companies House also show the Manchester-headquartered group's revenue increased from £32.5m to £47.7m over the same period.

Its gross profit rose from £15.2m to £20.5m while it recovered from an operating loss of £408,492 to a profit of £1.4m.

Commercial director David Shirra said: "Our focussed commercial and marketing efforts, combined with improved operational effectiveness and new agile ways of working, have driven diversification in our service offering and improved utilisation of our facilities.

"However, we have also continued our growth trajectory in our core markets of cosmetic surgery and bariatric surgery.

"Our financial results are encouraging and while our growth is set to continue throughout 2022 and into 2023 and beyond, we measure our success on more than just financials.
