Princess Yachts director is named as new chair of CBI in South West

A director of Plymouth’s Princess Yachts has been named a the new chair of the CBI in the South West.

Adrian Bratt, who holds the position of general counsel with , takes over from Pennon chief executive Susan Davy, who has held the role since 2018.

The CBI’s South West Regional Council appointed Mr Bratt for a two-year term. He is a governance specialist and commercial lawyer who after operating a national private practice specialising in the manufacturing, retail and energy sectors on behalf of national and multinational firms.

He is also a former Royal Navy officer who has been part of the CBI South West Council since 2017, while also sitting on the Plymouth Growth Board and the Maritime Enterprise Working Group.

Mr Bratt said: “The South West is a region of talent, ingenuity and enterprise which can wield great influence when it speaks with one voice. I look forward to helping to amplify that voice to support a post-Covid recovery and evolve the levelling-up agenda.

“Throughout the Covid crisis, the CBI has led the way in terms of working with business, Government and trade unions to support companies.

“We must continue to act as an agent of positive change as the focus shifts beyond the pandemic towards future investment in skills and sustainability to help the South West lead the way in the race to net zero.
