A Greater Manchester funeral planning firm is set to break through the £20m turnover mark in 2021.

Pride Planning has doubled its turnover year-on-year since being established in 2014 and has posted figures of £12.7m for the 2018-19 financial period.

The Stockport firm has also swelled its staff numbers from 50 to 150 over the past three years, and is set to have £100m of assets under management invested in the trust that is at the heart of its business model.

Pride Planning offers an innovative pre-pay service that aims to take the worry out of leaving your loved ones saddled with financial responsibilities after your death.

Founder and CEO, Adam Deering, said: “With the costs of a º£½ÇÊÓƵ funeral seeing an alarming 140 per cent rise over the last 15 years, and looking well set to continue on that trajectory, we wanted to offer people the chance to protect themselves and their families.

“We use a pre-pay service where you can finance the costs that will be incurred after your death at the current rate, not the much higher one years down the line.”

Speaking about the origins of the business, Mr Deering, 38, added: “I had £150,000 in the bank and I was faced with the decision to either buy a house or invest in a business.

“I went with the business because I really believed that the idea behind Pride Planning would work – and I’m so pleased now that I made that decision.
