People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions of the week

Newcastle-based affordable house builder Adderstone Living has announced four new appointments to support business growth and expansion.

Debbie Hope joins as director of new business with a brief to develop the company’s range of affordable properties for social housing providers in Yorkshire over the next 18 months, including establishing a new regional office. She has more than 12 years’ experience in affordable housing development within the public sector.

Also appointed are senior planner Emma Moon, senior estimator Neil Fitzpatrick, and technical coordinator Jordan Dixon, who will all be based at The Fleming in Jesmond. Director Stephen McCoy said: "Our strength lies in our people and Debbie, Emma, Neil and Jordan, whose values align with those of the business, will be terrific additions to the team. The next chapter of success is already being written and we will only go from strength-to-strength in 2024 on the back of our investment in additional skills and a commitment to deliver high standards of service and product excellence."

Media agency Route has appointed former Weetabix head of marketing Gareth Turner to the board as a non-executive director.

Mr Turner has over 23 years of experience in national and international roles, marketing household brands including John Smiths, Bulmers and Lurpak. As part of his role, he will use his expertise and industry gravitas to help hone Route’s ambitious plans.

He said: “I’m excited to be working with such a talented and well-established business to help them expand. I’m looking forward to working with the board to unlock strategic opportunities, and with the broader team to set us on the path to tremendous growth. I greatly admire what Route has achieved to date and am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to its continued success.”
