Companies with operations located all across Liverpool, Manchester and the wider North West region have confirmed a whole host of top hires and promotions over the last week.
Business which operate in sectors from accountancy, sport, law and property have made a series of moves in the past week since our last roundup.

Haines Watts
Accountancy firm Haines Watts has welcomed 12 new appointments in the last year to its team in Manchester to further support its growing base of clients.
The new team members join at various levels from school leavers to seniors and across different departments including business services, tax and audit and assurance.
The firm is continuing to search for more great people to join its growing team.

Stockport County
The former boss of Everton and Super League Rugby, who recently joined PwC, has become chairman of Stockport County, who are owned by one of the region's most successful businessmen.
Robert Elstone has joined the club in the non-executive role in a move which the National League side said was their "biggest off pitch signing in decades, and demonstrates the club’s investment into its future success".
Club owner Mark Stott, who founded the Vita Group, will step down from his temporary position as chairman, after purchasing the club in January 2020.
Mr Elstone's experience includes sports consulting at Deloitte with clients including the Scottish Premier League, Nike and Juventus, commercial and media rights exploitation at Sky Sports, leadership of Everton Football Club for almost a decade and most recently, executive chairman of Super League.
He is currently employed by PwC as a specialist industry adviser.

Law firm Napthens has extended its footprint in Liverpool following a spate of new senior appointments, client wins and a new office.
Moving to the sixth floor in The Plaza, Old Hall Street, Napthens has completed a significant upgrade to its previous lease with a fourfold increase in floor space, new meeting room facilities and accommodation for up to 30 staff.
To coincide with its move, the firm has made several new appointments, including two additions to its employment team.
Specialising in education law, including safeguarding and exclusions, Suzanne Mainwaring has been appointed as a senior associate following more than 11 years with Hill Dickinson locally.
Chris Hayes also joins as a senior associate from MSB Solicitors where he headed the employment team.
An active member of the Liverpool Law Society’s Employment Law sub-committee, he acts for a broad range of organisations, from small owner-managed-businesses through to well established SMEs, on the full spectrum of employment law and HR related issues.
Alvarez & Marsal
Professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its regional restructuring practice in Manchester with the appointment of Michael Magnay as a managing director.
A&M’s Manchester team has grown rapidly since establishing an office in the city in 2018. It now comprises 19 people, two of whom are managing directors.
The firm offers regional business leaders restructuring, turnaround and insolvency support. Recent cases for the Manchester office have included mid-market advisory and insolvency work, such as PFP Energy, together with working on larger national and international cases such as Four Seasons and NMC Healthcare plc.

Nexus Planning
Independent consultancy Nexus Planning has appointed Matt Dugdale as associate director to its Manchester office.
As associate director, he will work alongside executive director Peter Tooher and the rest of the team, tasked with developing the consultancy’s strengths in the residential sector and using his expertise to support clients.
Nexus Manchester now has nine staff based at the Castlefield office, with plans for further growth in the future.
Mr Dugdale joins from WSP (Indigo Planning) where he was an associate.
Pitalia Real Estate
Manchester-based Pitalia Real Estate has appointed Greg Ball from Urban Splash as its new development and investment director.
Regeneration specialist Mr Ball joins former JLL North West chairman, David Lathwood, at the development and investment vehicle.
During his time at Urban Splash, where he was a senior development manager, Mr Ball oversaw the on-going development of its iconic Park Hill scheme in Sheffield, Europe’s largest listed building.
He joined Urban Splash following stints at some of the North West’s largest regeneration projects, including for U&I at its £1.4bn Mayfield development, and for Muse its Cheadle Royal and Stockport Exchange schemes.
Exchange Chambers
Ian Whitehurst from Exchange Chambers in Liverpool has been appointed to a number of new academic roles.
He has been appointed as a guest lecturer at Northumbria University in financial crime and a guest lecturer at Nottingham University in cyber-crime. He will deliver a series of lectures over the next academic year.
The appointments complement his existing role as an associate lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University.
Mr Whitehurst has also been invited to deliver a guest lecture at Galway University in February 2022 in relation to the use of technology in the criminal trial process and how to challenge forensic computer evidence focusing upon the prosecutions arising from the Post Office litigation.
Rochdale Football Club
Rochdale Football Club have announced that Graham Morris has become their new president.
Mr Morris has been appointed in recognition of his long-standing service to the club, as well as his outstanding contribution to Rochdale AFC over the last four decades.
Chairman Simon Gauge said: "I’m delighted that Graham has accepted our invitation to become president.
"David Kilpatrick’s sudden passing last week came as a reminder to us all just that we can’t keep waiting until tomorrow to celebrate and mark the legacy of those that have gone before us in the board room.
"It was very important for us to move quickly to rename the Main Stand as the David Kilpatrick Stand, but to also remember the contributions of Graham to the Dale and the part he played in helping save the club from going out of business in the 1980s, ensuring we have a club to support today."
Rapleys LLP
Andrew Bradshaw has joined Rapleys LLP as a town planning partner in the Manchester office from GL Hearn.
He has over 25 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors and is a specialist in residential planning and development and town centre regeneration.
Mr Bradshaw said: "I am delighted to join Rapleys as a town planning partner and look forward to working with the team to grow the business in the residential and town centre regeneration sectors."
