Westgate has teamed up with two other firms to help deliver off and on-site hospital wards for coronavirus patients

Partitioning solutions supplier Westgate has teamed up with two other businesses to help support the mobilisation off on and off-site hospital wards – as part of the fight against COVID-19.

The Stafford business has partnered with Cambridge-based Accora and Maxwood Washrooms, in London, to form Wardfast.

Together the organisations will provide a rapid deployment ward solution – comprising of Hoardfast walls, medical-grade treatment beds and hand sanitation units – to support the NHS, healthcare and construction sectors to set up much-needed hospital wards within weeks.

It comes as the number of deaths from coronavirus continues to rise – with almost 3,000 reported in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ alone.

A number of key hospitals and trusts across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland have already purchased Wardfast to deliver their temporary hospital wards.

And Hoardfast – Westgate’s sustainable PVC screening product – has recently been approved for use by the NHS following a recent trial.

John Gates, a partner at Westgate, said: “The main purpose of Wardfast is to allow a ward to be rapidly deployed and set up quickly in any type of environment, from an exhibition hall to a temporary external building.

“We felt compelled to see how our Hoardfast product and a key partnership with Accora and Maxwood could ensure the NHS has the essential space and facilities required to deliver COVID-19 care, with the flexibility to adapt as the patient population changes.”
