North East home services firm Pacifica Group is embarking on a recruitment drive to add 50 engineers to its workforce on the back of continuing growth.

The Houghton-le-Spring company was launched in 2003 by a team of four energy sector experts but has now grown to employ more than 400 people, as a leading home appliance servicing, repair and refurbishing company.

The group operates a number of subsidiaries including Pacifica Home Services, Pacifica Appliance Services and º£½ÇÊÓƵ Warranty and its flagship brands – 0800 Repair Gas and 0800 Repair – formed as part of Pacifica Home Services and Pacifica Appliance Services, respectively.

0800 Repair works with a number of the largest manufacturers and retailers in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, with its network of engineers repairing and installing a wide range of domestic appliances.

Meanwhile, 0800 Repair Gas specialises in the repair, maintenance and installation of heating systems, including boilers, renewable systems and insulation services.

Now, following a period of sustained growth, its co-founder and CEO Kevin Brown has announced the firm is embarking on a recruitment drive to increase its workforce of directly employed engineers during its next financial year from April 2020, by a further 50 engineers.

Recruitment during its current financial year will also take its headcount to more than 500.

The announcement comes as the group –  shortlisted last year at the North East Business Awards in the company of the year category – publishes consolidated group accounts, showing a 13.8% lift in sales from £36m in the year ended March 2019, to £41m in its financial year ending March 2019.
