Online trading platform CMC Markets to create jobs with major city centre office

An online trading platform has announced plans to open an office in Manchester city centre, creating new jobs.

CMC Markets is aiming to launch a technology hub in the city in the summer.

The company is headquartered in London and has not yet confirmed the exact location of its planned new base or how many jobs will be created in Manchester.

In a statement, the firm said that "decentralising" its London office will support CMC Markets’ "high growth strategy, enabling the firm to harness the region’s top talent, build on its technology stack, expand its product offering and maintain its enviable market-leading position".

Deputy CEO David Fineberg said: "Manchester is quickly proving itself to be one of the leading technology hubs in the country.

"This investment by CMC will not only enable us to bring jobs to the region, but it will also allow us to build on the city’s vibrant and growing financial technology sector and tap into the diverse, highly skilled workforce."
