One of Wales' fastest growing firms Genpower in major expansion

It has taken 100,000 sq ft of new warehousing space in Newport

St Modwen Park in Newport.

One of Wales’ fastest growing firms, Genpower, has expanded its distribution capacity by taking 100,000 sq ft of new warehousing space in Newport.

In a major expansion the Pembroke-based firm, which appeared on last year’s Wales 50 Fast Growth list which ranks the economy’s fastest growing indigenous companies, has taken space at St Modwen Logistics’ St Modwen Park Newport.

The letting deal will allow Genpower to scale up its e-fulfilment service for Hyundai Power Products across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The investment has also created 25 new jobs, a number that expected to increase as orders continue to rise.

Genpower is also investing in sustainability and has committed planting a tree for every order that it dispatched. The business, set up in 2006, has already planted around 230,000 trees in the past 18 months.

Its managing director Roland Llewellin, said: “With such limited space in Wales we’re thrilled to have been able to secure this warehouse at St Modwen Park Newport that aligns with our own sustainability ambitions. After reaching capacity at our previous location, we needed an additional facility that could support our ambitious growth plans and net zero carbon targets.

“We have now completed the fit out of the new warehouse and have been in operation since the beginning of February.
