The business said it would recruit a team of experts on the Glomar Worker to deliver subsea surveys and specialised offshore projects. It comes a month after the company agreed a multimillion-pound contract to carry out work to subsea structures on a wind farm off the coast of East Anglia.
Simon Miller, managing director of Rovco, said "multiple projects" were already secured for the Glomar Worker, until autumn 2022.
“We are pleased to continue building our existing relationship with Glomar to support the offshore wind sector, adding another of their valuable assets to our pool," he said.
The Glomar Worker, which was built in 2008 and underwent an extensive rebuild in 2020, provides living accommodation for up to 44 people. The purpose-built vessel provides a combined deck space of 497m2, and an SMST Active Heave Compensated crane for multi-purpose subsea operations.
Klaas Weij, chief executive of Glomar Offshore, added: “We would like to thank Rovco for selecting our recently upgraded Glomar Worker for their 2022 campaigns and for the continuous trust shown in our tonnage over the last three years.”
