The man behind a digital marketing agency which has worked with Carphone Warehouse, Red Bull and the NHS has been named one of the top entrepreneurs in Britain.

Luke Tobin, the founder of Leicestershire-headquartered Digital Ethos, has taken the top prize for a service industry in the Midlands at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

The agency, which is based in the town of Oadby, works with businesses of all shapes and sizes in all industries.

Luke was picked because of his dedication to his business and now goes through to the national awards.

Back in the spring he acquired York-based start-up View Digital, the first of potential further acquisitions

He said: 鈥淚 am absolutely honoured to win this award and proud of everything we鈥檝e achieved to get to where we are today.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a fantastic recognition but I wouldn鈥檛 have been able to do this without my team, so really this is a win for all of us.

Now in its eighth year, the awards celebrate the hard work and inspiring stories of entrepreneurs in the 海角视频, rather than the business鈥 balance sheet.

With Covid-19 restrictions preventing the regional finals taking place at a live event, Luke won the award in a virtual award ceremony joined by finalists across every region.

In a video message to finalists, Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: 鈥淓ntrepreneurs stay strong, even during a global pandemic. Coronavirus hasn鈥檛 stifled enterprise.

鈥淓ntrepreneurs are creating new businesses and adapting to the crisis, as seen in this year鈥檚 entries.

鈥淎nd that鈥檚 what we need to happen if we want our economy to bounce back. We need all of you to keep inventing, keep taking risks, keep creating new businesses.

鈥淚t鈥檚 my job as Chancellor to celebrate, champion and support you.

鈥淐ongratulations to all the winners. Thank you to all of you for everything you鈥檝e done.鈥

Francesca James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: 鈥淟uke has a wonderful entrepreneurial story and I鈥檓 delighted for him to win this award.

鈥淚鈥檒l be keeping a very close eye on what he does in the years to come and look forward to welcoming Luke to the community.鈥
