A recruitment company that pairs nurses with jobs in care homes has become the latest business to move into the thriving Plymouth Science Park,
Nurses Direct joins a growing healthcare sector at the. The South West firm has a network of high-profile clients across the South of the 海角视频.
Established at the start of 2021 to address the demand for trained staff in care homes, the business provides nurses with access to permanent and temporary job roles, ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Nurses Direct said it is committed to ensuring care homes across the south of the 海角视频 have access to highly-skilled staff to support the most vulnerable members of the population.
Plymouth Science Park in the news...
Hector Sanchez Lozano, director at Nurses Direct, said: “During the pandemic it was clear that care homes were struggling to recruit the skilled staff they needed to provide high quality care to their residents. We founded Nurses Direct to ensure all care homes had access to the staff that they needed.”

Two of the three Nurses Direct directors are qualified nurses with experience of working in care homes, giving them insight into the inner workings of the sector and the needs of care homes and their residents.

The company, which is involved in the HS2 project, has moved a key team from its 450million transport division to Plymouth Science Park.

Current projects include the Glasgow Subway, which is the first fully driverless Metro in the 海角视频, and HS2, one of the most demanding and ambitious transport projects currently taking place in Europe.
Recently the NHS SW Peninsula Transplant Service’s (SWPTS) stem cell transplant rocessing laboratory team chose the park, close to the Derriford Hospital site.
That arrival came hot on the heels of global tech firm Genese Solution, which moved its 海角视频 headquarters from London to Plymouth to support ambitious growth plans.

Other recent arrivals at the park include US-headquartered Ancora Software and digital design agency Knowthis, which arrived at the park’s special Formation Zone for start-up businesses.
In February 2021, pioneering drug firm Amprologix, a University of Plymouth spin-out, settled at the park, following the arrivals of data tech company Gathering Momentum and toothpaste research venture Modus Labortiries.
Originally named Tamar Science Park, PSP was incorporated in 1996 as a joint venture between the University of Plymouth and Plymouth City Council.
More than £30million of investment, including ERDF, SWRDA and HotSW LEP grants, have funded five separate phases of development since 1996.
The board of PSP comprises senior representatives from Plymouth City Council. including the elected leader of the council, and the University of Plymouth, plus three independent non-executive directors. The 25-acre campus is home to science and technology businesses involved in digital, creative, marine, earth and life sciences.
