A North Somerset recruitment firm has acquired a rival business in Cardiff for an undisclosed sum. Weston-super-Mare-based Abatec Recruitment has taken over St David Recruitment Services in Pontprennau.
The deal will "strengthen" Abatec's foothold in Wales, it said, and broaden its service offerings to a wider range of clients.
The acquisition will see St David Recruitment's co-founder, Sally Hall, remain with the business, which will continue operating as usual, with the added support of Abatec.

Mr Buchanan said: "At Abatec, we are delighted to have completed this strategic acquisition, as we recognise the exceptional reputation and market position that St David holds. We are extremely excited about the opportunities this acquisition presents."
Abatec was founded more than 30 years ago and has clients in the civil engineering, industrial, IT and digital sectors. Meanwhile, St David Recruitment was established in 2002 and hires across a range of sectors including business support, legal, finance, tech and healthcare.
Mr Dyer added: "We are pleased to welcome St David Recruitment Services to the Abatec family. We are excited to be able to collaborate with St David and provide an enhanced and extensive service to our clients in both the South West, South Wales and beyond."
St David Recruitment Services was advised throughout by the GS Verde Group. Abatec Recruitment was advised by Jo Bligh of Thinking Legal and Joy Boswell of Fourfifty.
