Estate agency group My Property Box has been named service provider of the Year at the inaugural Blue Bricks Magazine Property Awards.

The judges, including angel investor Helen Chorley who presents SKY TV show Property Elevator, and property coach, investor and developer Charlotte Edwards, said the award recognised the company’s “exceptional commitment and outstanding delivery of services”. The Blue Bricks Magazine Property Awards, which were held at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, recognise innovation, creativity, excellence, and ethics within the property sector.

Ben Quaintrell, founder and CEO of My Property Box, which covers the Tees Valley, County Durham, Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and North Yorkshire, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised as service provider of the year. It’s testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team, who strive to deliver the highest level of service to our clients, whether it is people buying or selling homes, landlords, tenants, or property investors.

“It’s also a matter of pride that our efforts have been recognised by industry professionals, which serves to enhance the profile and reputation of this business in what is an extremely competitive sector.”

Earlier this month My Property Box, which has offices in Darlington and Newcastle, secured multimillion-pound investment from BGF.

Benfield School has received a £1,000 donation from Houghton International and the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) to support its after-school STEM program.

The donation was made after Houghton International won the manufacturing innovation award at the Made in the North East Awards.

Representatives from the two organisations recently visited the STEM and Robotics club at the school, to see a number of student projects in action, including their participation in the First Lego League. The Lego League is an engaging and educational project requiring students to apply core STEM principles to successfully design, build, and program their robots. The £1,000 donation will support projects like the Lego League, and make sure students gain hands-on experience in STEM activities.
