Property firm Bradley Hall Chartered Surveyors and Estate Agents has raised £50,000 for two local charities at its annual fundraiser.
The company held its festive fundraising event in aid of Marie Curie’s Newcastle hospice and Durham children’s charity Heel and Toe after hearing that both had lost the ability to fundraise during the pandemic.
Neil Hart, Bradley Hall’s group managing director said, “Both Marie Curie and Heel and Toe are two very important charities which support local people. Each of these organisations’ services are in high demand and need continuous funds to keep going.

“We are very proud to be continuing our support of these two charities which have been struggling significantly due to the impact of Covid-19, so we need to do all we can to keep raising awareness and funds for these important services which support our communities.”
Shipping insurer North P&I Club has announced a plan that it hopes will help it reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
The Newcastle-based firm has launched its 2030 Sustainability Strategy which includes pledges covering emissions, zero waste to landfill targets and supply chain standards.
The company’s chief executive, Paul Jennings, said the 161-year-old insurer was looking forward to “doing more, and quicker” to address environmental and societal issues. The company will reduce the use of fossil fuels to heat its buildings, and aim to lessen the impact of business travel.
Mr Jennings said: “Sustainability has been a driving principle of North for some time now – and we’ve achieved a lot in terms of protecting the marine environment and supporting the health and wellbeing of people, including our own team and the many thousands of seafarers working for our members.

“This strategy sets out seven ambitious targets for our own business, covering carbon emissions, waste, our supply chain, diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility, employee engagement and investments. Our role as part of the International Group of P&I Clubs – together insuring around 90% of the world’s ocean-going shipping – means we’re a facilitator of change in the industry.”
Staff at North East law firm Hay & Kilner have marked the practice’s 75th anniversary by raising more than £7,500 for a regional suicide prevention and education charity.
The Newcastle firm adopted the If U Care Share Foundation as its dedicated charity for 2020 and then extended the relationship through 2021 in response to a huge increase in demand for its services during the pandemic.
After carrying out a wide range of individual and team-based fundraising activities, Hay & Kilner has now presented If U Care Share with a £7,689.35 donation, which will go towards meeting the cost of providing its services.
Jonathan Waters, managing partner at Hay & Kilner, said: “The work done by the Foundation team has never been more important than it has been over the last two years and it’s an honour for us to be able to support what they’re doing. Our whole team has pitched in to raise as much money as possible and being able to give the Foundation such a terrific sum is a great way to mark the end of our 75th anniversary year.”
Northumberland manufacturing firm Reproflex3 Ltd is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The Cramlington company provides pre-press services to the global flexographic print community and is based on the Nelson Park Industrial Estate.

Energy company Utilita Energy has extended its sponsorship deal with Gateshead FC.
The firm, which employs around 1,400 people in the town, will featured on the back of the club’s home and away shirts for the remainder of the 2021/22 season, having already provided advertising and sponsorship support to parts of the club this year.
Gateshead FC’s communications and marketing development officer James Rushmore said: “The club is delighted to be expanding its partnership with Utilita on a grander scale. Their support of both the club and Gateshead FC Foundation has been fantastic throughout the season so far and this feels like a natural progression.
“The incorporation of shirt sponsorship into the pre-existing partnership is indicative of Utilita’s commitment to the club, and the community as a whole.”
