Nominations have opened for the 2021 Nottinghamshire Live Women in Business Awards.

The celebrate the achievements of outstanding female entrepreneurs and businesswomen in Nottingham and the county of Nottinghamshire 鈥 and there are just themselves or people they think deserve to be recognised.

The last time the awards were held, in 2019, the winners included Charlotte Cox, global brands director of Canterbury, who was named Businesswoman of the Year. The company is part of Speedo owner Pentland Brands, which brought Canterbury and Mitre to Nottingham two years ago.

The other 2019 editor鈥檚 choice award, for lifetime achievement, went to Jackie Lymn Rose, a company director at AW Lymn funeral directors.

The awards will be hosted this autumn in partnership with headline sponsor 鈥 a Nottingham business which has been proudly supplying blinds, curtains and shutters to its customers for five decades. Category sponsors include the law firms and .

The awards will highlight the achievements of a vast range of businesswomen from across the county 鈥 from honouring industry leaders to sole traders, flying the flag for women in business, and hopefully creating female role models to inspire future generations.

The annual awards are now in their eighth year and the categories are apprentice of the year; sole trader; rising star; best female in construction; inspirational woman of the year; public service award; new business of the year; technology award; entrepreneur of the year; female executive of the year; small business of the year; lifetime achievement; and businesswoman of the year.

After the nomination closing date on Friday, October 8, three finalists will be shortlisted within each category by an independent judging panel.

The winners will then be announced at a glittering awards ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Crowne Plaza and will be hosted by the BBC鈥檚 Frances Finn.

The awards evening will include a red carpet drinks reception, followed by a three-course dinner then the awards presentation itself.
