Nine North East businesses are celebrating after being named among the Best Places to Work in the 海角视频 for 2024 by The Sunday Times.

More than 500 businesses across the 海角视频 have made the list, which highlights the best companies to work for by measuring staff feedback on factors including reward and recognition, information sharing, empowerment, wellbeing, pride and job satisfaction. To be successfully accredited as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, organisations must achieve a minimum 70% overall engagement score.

The list 鈥 including breakdowns for companies from Very Big organisations to Big, Medium and Small organisations 鈥 also singles out top 10 companies, which achieved the highest engagement scores within each of the four organisation size groupings. David Lloyd Clubs, CGI IT 海角视频 and Octopus Energy were among the Top 10 employers in the Very Big organisation category, while Easyjet Holidays and Dishoom were ranked as some of the Top 10 best employers in the Big organisation category. YuLife insurance provider and Iconic Smiles dental group were celebrated in the Medium and Small organisation categories, respectively.

Newcastle-based digital sampling platform SoPost also makes the list, with the Sunday Times highlighting how its team receives a quarterly all颅owance that can be spent on anything that enhances their wellbeing. CEO and founder Jonny Grubin said: 鈥淚鈥檓 so proud to see SoPost listed as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work.

鈥淲hen I founded SoPost, I was intent on making sure that it would be a company with a great culture, that people enjoy being part of and that provides tonnes of personal growth, and this award feels like a real milestone for us.

鈥淚t鈥檚 testament to not just the initiatives we鈥檝e introduced, like fully-paid sabbaticals, mentoring and development programmes, SoPost Week and wellness allowances, but also 鈥 and probably more importantly 鈥 the attitudes we all bring to work every day and the values we鈥檙e aligned around. There are so many examples of people going above and beyond to make this an amazing place to work, and individuals rapidly developing their careers here, and I鈥檓 pleased for the whole team that we鈥檝e received this recognition.鈥

Other companies to earn inclusion are Durham-based education trust Advance Learning Partnership; law firm EMG Solicitors, which is also based in Durham and offers staff perks including 33 days of annual holiday, gym discounts, local museum visits and sleep workshops; and Sunderland GP Alliance, the not-for-profit collaboration of Sunderland-based GPs.

The list is rounded off by Robson Laidler Accountants, which has a team of 94 staff across two offices in Jesmond and Chester le Street.

Amy Park, director of people and culture at Robson Laidler said: 鈥淲e are completely overwhelmed to have been named in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards and to be nationally recognised as an employer with the highest employee engagement and wellbeing levels alongside big names such as Octopus Energy and Easyjet Holidays.

鈥淲hat makes this accolade even more special is the fact it comes directly from our people. There鈥檚 no judging panel or swish submission to decide who makes the Best Places to Work list; it is based on honest feedback from our staff.

鈥淚鈥檓 incredibly proud to work with amazing people across our business, who always show such passion and commitment to their work and clients and to supporting each other.鈥

The list, powered by WorkL, is the culmination of an annual nationwide workplace survey that honours and celebrates Britain鈥檚 top employers, and the surveys revealed that the companies making it into the top were successful at getting the youngest demographic of staff on board.

Chris Longcroft of The Times and The Sunday Times, said: 鈥淭o be named on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list is a true recognition of excellence and I congratulate those organisations who made the grade this year.鈥
