Newport firm Voltric to partner with º£½ÇÊÓƵ's largest EV roaming network

Last month the EV firm secured significant pre-seed investment from a syndicate of eight business angels

Voltric’s CEO Julian Mensah alongside PAUA CEO Niall Riddell

Voltric, an electric vehicle subscription service, is set to partner PAUA, the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's largest EV roaming network for business drivers.

The partnership will offer Voltric's new EV customers an easier way to plug in and charge across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ. These customers will receive a charge card powered by PAUA with their car which they can use to locate, access and pay for their EV chargin on a pay-as-you-go basis.

The partnership follows news last month that the company, which is based at Tramshed Tech in Newport, is preparing to scale up after it secured significant pre-seed investment from a syndicate of eight business angels led by lead investor Eamon Tuhani.

This was matched with investment from the Wales Angel Co-Investment Fund, alongside further investment from other private investors.

The startup has already completed a 12-month trial with current subscribers who have been using PAUA's single charging card and app platform to access the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's largest roaming network of over 20,000 charge point connectors across 20 different networks in one card.

Founded in 2021, PAUA provides a single interface for organisations and fleets to pay for EV charging, obtain receipts and claim VAT refunds. It now counts over two dozen network partners with more coming live all the time.

Mr Mensah said: "It’s great working alongside our friends at PAUA – they are the rockstars of the fast-growing EV charging market. Our whole promise to drivers is to put more EVs on the road, protect our environment and simplify how we drive.”
