'Our acquisition represents more than a business move - it is a natural alignment', says CEO Stuart Bramley

A Newcastle cycling clothing brand is set for growth after being snapped up by a North Tyneside digital marketing agency.

Attacus was launched 10 years ago and has grown to become an innovative brand within the cycling community, collaborating with global companies such as Garmin to build a loyal following. The company, owned by entrepreneur Dan McClen who took over in December 2023, has now been acquired by Wallsend based Mira Media Group amid moves to drive the brand forward.

Attacus has been a long-standing client of Mira so Stuart Bramley, co-founder and owner of Mira Media Group, said the agency’s understanding of the brand makes the transition seamless. Mira Marketing specialises in pay-per-click, email marketing, social media and conversion rate optimisation (CRO).

The company was founded in 2018 and works with brands including Scalextric, Hornby Hobbies, US fitness-wear companies and a luxury dog food company as well as the NHS.

Mr Bramley said: “Our acquisition represents more than a business move - it is a natural alignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for us.

“My first business was a sportswear brand, which I ran for over four years. We built nationwide retail partnerships and a strong online presence before I exited the company.

“That experience, combined with Mira’s growth as a marketing agency, gives us a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in the ecommerce and sportswear space. Acquiring Attacus allows us to bring all of that expertise together.”

Mr Bramley said the agency will not only drive the brand forward but also strengthen its own ability to serve clients by gaining first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities of running a consumer brand.
