Two former directors at Curtins have joined forces to launch their own business Hexa Consulting.
David Strong and James Garment, who have a combined 40 years’ experience in the engineering industry, have set up Hexa Consulting, which is headquartered in Nottingham.
The pair described themselves as “hands-on directors” who enjoy immersing themselves in projects while helping to bring their clients’ ideas to life.
James, who's previous projects have included EON’s headquarters in Nottingham city centre, the £100 million Resort World Birmingham project, and over 50 new primary and secondary schools during the last ten years, said: “Our business focuses on relationships.
"We listen to our clients’ needs and utilise whatever solutions, be they simple or complex, that are necessary to best meet their project goals. We are not afraid to offer different ideas and always look for added value.”
“We are both very hands-on people and we are excited to be designing, leading and helping to evolve our clients’ projects again.”
The pair say that the new business will focus on creating smart and innovative engineering while not being afraid to offer alternative approaches to traditional methods. It will also focus on providing green and sustainable schemes for its clients.
Hexa has already secured new contracts across the Midlands.

David, who led the civil and structural engineering input for the ‘Heart of Campus’ development at ’s Clifton campus, and the £40 million redevelopment of the Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities at De Montfort University, added: “We respond to each and every client on an individual basis and we tailor our services to match those needs.
“We know from our clients that they want a positive service delivered by individuals who are prepared to challenge the norm.
"They continue to expect us to be driving economies through our work.
