Fifty jobs are being created in East Yorkshire as a new care provider opens in the region.
Home Instead Senior Care, which specialises in person-centred care for elderly people in their own homes, will care for clients across Hull, Beverley, Cottingham and surrounding areas.
The venture has been launched by Mandy Aitken, who said she wants to give senior residents “a sense of purpose and wellbeing.”
She said: “I am passionate about providing a service that could really help to make a difference, not only for those being cared for, but also for their families.
“Our pledge is that the care we provide is the care we would want for our own Mum or Dad.”
A total of 50 new jobs are being created at the new care company.
Mandy had been thinking of starting her own company for some time when she discovered Home Instead, a home care company which won a Queens Award for Innovation in 2016.
Having learnt about the company’s reputation for providing high quality, at-home care, Mandy felt the move was the perfect fit for her.

Mandy will draw on her experience in project management, human resources and training as she looks to build her own team in East Yorkshire.
She said: “At Home Instead we tailor our care plans to meet the individual needs of our clients, and our minimum call is one hour, at a set time and with the same caregiver.
“It’s all about taking time to deliver quality care. This also enables us to truly get to know our clients and understand their needs.
“Our mission is to brighten the lives of seniors, giving them a sense of purpose, wellbeing and worth.”
Joining Mandy at the new business is care manager Lynne George, who has 37 years of experience working in care.

Lynne, who lives in Beverley, spoke of her excitement at the new opportunity to work at Home Instead.
She said: “I would never want to do any other job as I just want to make people feel that no matter what their needs, they too can still have a choice in how they live their lives.

Together, Mandy and Lynne intend to change the way seniors are cared for in their area.
They are currently looking for passionate caregivers, but said previous experience of working in care is not a prerequisite for employment.
