A new South West development that could see the creation of a new neighbourhood of up to 370 new homes.

Housebuilder Bellway has started building 81 homes in the first phase of the development at Redland Grove near Swindon. Bellway, which is headquartered in the North East, will create a new neighbourhood on the former Redlands Airfield site.

Christel Hawkins, sales manager for Bellway South West, said: “With work here progressing well, we have now been able to open our sales complex at Redlands Grove so that we can welcome visitors for the first time to the site.

“We also have two fabulous new showhomes to allow house-hunters to see inside a fully furnished and decorated property. Both are superb examples of a four-bedroom detached family home and showcase the quality and specification people can expect in a new-build Bellway home."

Bellway’s first phase at Redlands Grove includes 65 two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale and 16 affordable properties available for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

The housebuilder has submitted detailed plans for a second phase of 97 homes, as part of the wider project. This application is pending consideration by Swindon Borough Council.

The wider scheme, which Redlands Grove is part of, is being built in conjunction with Vistry Group. The planning agreement for the site will see Bellway and Vistry invest more £5.3m to help improve local infrastructure.
