The 12-month apprenticeships are focused on developing the apprentices鈥 skills and require the recruits to pass nationally recognised qualifications. After finishing the programme, all apprentices are offered advisor roles at the centre and an opportunity to build a career with EE.

Allison McCarthy, general manager of the Merthyr contact centre, said: 鈥淲e know that the pandemic has had a big impact on young people in particular. So it鈥檚 great news that we鈥檙e recruiting new apprentices again in Merthyr.

鈥淒espite the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we鈥檙e continuing to recruit and attract brilliant people from all walks of life into our business. Apprentices bring young talent and fresh ideas into an experienced workforce. It鈥檚 also a great opportunity for the apprentices to get formal skills training, a recognised qualification and a valuable first step on the career ladder.鈥
