Midlands accountancy firm Dains acquires Birmingham city centre practice

The acquisition comes on the back of a 'golden year' for Dains which has a presence across the East and West Midlands

Dains managing partner Richard McNeilly, left, with Clere’s Accountants owner Steve Clere.

Midlands accountancy firm Dains has acquired a fellow practice.

The company – which has a presence across the East and West Midlands including offices in Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Lichfield, Burton and Derby, has taken over Clere’s Accountants in Birmingham.

The deal will see employees from Clere’s join the commercial services team at the Dains Birmingham office on Colmore Row.

Staff will be integrated into the team – headed by Partner Ian Carter – in a move which is the latest exciting development for Dains and its workforce.

Clere’s Accountants has provided a personalised service for owner-managed businesses and individuals since 2003.

Bosses at Dains say this integration is a ‘strong fit’ for the Dains Commercial Services team which serves clients from start-up to a turnover of several million pounds a year.

Left to right are Ann Amos, Sandro El Sayed (Clere’s), Vivian Burke (Clere’s), David Munn, Karen Millward (Clere’s), Michael Bevan, Nicky Davies, Adam Ali, Nick Reed, Lorraine Byrne, Richard McNeilly and Elizabeth Fenlon.

Dains managing partner Richard McNeilly said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of the trade and assets of Clere’s Limited which builds on our position within the Birmingham marketplace.

“In recent years, our proposition has improved enormously for ambitious business owners, who require advice on everything from cloud accounting to VAT, corporate taxation and growth funding.
