Midas Construction has been appointed to a new £5.16bn public sector house-building framework which could allow it to tap into lucrative contracts.

The firm, which operates across the South West from four regional bases in Plymouth, Bristol, Cornwall and Devon, is now part of the Residential Delivery & Development Framework set up by long-term partner organisation Southern Construction Framework (SCF).

Midas’s place on SCF Residential, for housing schemes between 10 and 75 homes, is in addition to its current role on the SCF, through which it has carried out 36 projects covering a variety of sectors and with a total value of more than £190m.

SCF is a leading construction procurement framework delivered by the public sector for the public sector in the South of England, including the South West.

It connects customers with the best contractors in the region, streamlining planning and procurement and bringing added value through early contractor involvement.

SCF has delivered nearly £7bn of construction schemes for public sector organisations, with project values from £2m and up with no upper limit.

The new SCF Residential is a four-year framework available to all public bodies in the South East, London and the South West. It gives them access to market leading tier one and SME housebuilders and has been designed to be flexible and responsive to industry pressures, including carbon, modern methods of construction (MMC) and the ongoing housing crisis.
