The future of the region’s construction industry has been given a welcome boost after Midas Group recently invested in a tailor-made training scheme.

The company, one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s largest independent construction and property services providers, has used its Apprenticeship Levy to construct a unique new course for its team.

Launched in October, Midas worked alongside training provider Skills4Stem, to create a Construction Management qualification with ten employees currently enrolled on the initial two-year course.

The vital new programme combines the NVQ and HNC/D qualifications with a progression pathway to becoming MCIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) Chartered, all delivered via a flexible, blended methodology tailored for Midas employees, their individual roles and prior learning.

Chris Townsend, Learning and Development Manager for Midas Groups, said: “Supporting the development of our workforce is at the heart of the company’s vision to be industry leaders, and enables us to take the lead in improving construction skills across the sector.

"Programmes like this help to provide the skills to allow our teams to be industry leaders and provide the highest quality service to our customers.

"It has been hugely rewarding to watch Midas people learn and build on their knowledge of the construction industry, and we look forward to offering this chance to many more in the future."

Launched in 2017, the Apprenticeship Levy sees employers pay into a Government scheme, for apprenticeship training and assessments.
