A pair of family-run wine merchants have merged.

Solihull-based Frazier's Wine Merchants has joined forces with rival SH Jones Wines in Banbury.

Frazier's Wine Merchants is a fifth-generation business while SH Jones Wines was founded in 1848, supplying pubs, restaurants and hotels.

The newly enlarged entity has been rebranded as Frazier Jones Wine Merchants.

The two businesses first worked together during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 to help support the hospitality sector and this merger now strengthens the company's footprint across a significant stretch of the Midlands.

A total of 22 employees are now based at the original Frazier's Wine Merchants' Solihull warehouse and the company said it planned to grow turnover by ten per cent year-on-year, supported by a broader product range.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but it was supported by "a six-figure funding package" from Lloyds Bank.
