Meinhardt hires director to spearhead new Birmingham team

Newly launched division of global engineering consultancy will create ten jobs in the city

An engineering consultancy has appointed a technical director and project manager to spearhead the launch of a brand new team in Birmingham.

Richard James will lead the new technical highways and infrastructure team at Meinhardt's base at Two Snowhill which the company said would also see the creation of ten jobs in the city.

This unit will be responsible for the delivery of high-level technical input into Meinhardt º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's expanding portfolio of international projects which includes significant developments throughout the Middle East.

Mr James has more than 30 years of industry experience in various senior management roles in the public and public sectors.

They include technical director positions with environmental consultancy WSP and engineering consultancy Arcadis during which he delivered multidisciplinary projects in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

More recently, he oversaw the construction of an 800-unit housing development in the East Midlands.

Mr James said: "The opportunity to create a new team and deliver significant projects in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and internationally is hugely exciting.
