The first phase of a new commercial development in Worksop is being marketed.

A £5.5 million investment to deliver a major new entrance roundabout, access road and site remediation to the development in Sandy Lane, has been made possible through a grant award from D2N2 to kick start this brownfield development.

Asda is already on site delivering a new 70,000 sq ft foodstore and petrol filling station which will open in the New Year, creating 200 new jobs.

Property developer and investor CEG has appointed FHP and Fisher German to market the former Vesuvius site on Sandy Lane.

The two Nottinghamshire agents are marketing over 385,000 sq ft of commercial space offering industrial units from 1,200 sq ft up to 300,000 sq ft. With the land remediated and a planning permission in place, opportunities for fast track design and build are available.

The first phase will see 42,050 sq ft of speculative workspace being delivered on a range of flexible terms. This will provide a range of space of up to approximately 5,000 sq ft but can be merged for larger requirements.

Tim Gilbertson, director at FHP, said: "We are delighted to start progressing this scheme as agents for CEG in conjunction with Fisher German, as Worksop has been starved of new opportunities for many years.

"It is a strong market, always performs well and CEG should be applauded for speculatively developing a range of units on this site.
