The Manchester Publicity Association (MPA) has announced the winners of its Inspiration Awards.

Sam Jones, managing director of Tunafish Media, took home The MPA Award for his Not Just Soup initiative, which sees a different restaurant cook food and serve it up to homeless people.

Jones was one of a host of businesses celebrated at the dinner last night, which took place at The Midland Hotel, Manchester and was co-hosted by broadcaster Mark Radcliffe and DJ Hattie Pearson.

This year has seen the highest number of entries since the awards began seven years ago.

Christian James, MD of The If Agency and MPA chair, said: “I’m very proud and honoured to be the Chair of such an amazing organisation at such a landmark time in its history and when the City is absolutely buzzing with ideas and an infectious energy.

“The blend of events, collaborations and celebrations we have planned for our centenary year will be a fitting tribute to all those who have helped grow the MPA into what it is today; helping us to achieve our vision to have Manchester recognised as the best place on the planet to be working in, or with, the Media, Digital and Creative sector.”

Cindy Simmons, MD of the MPA, added: “Our strategy is to connect and support the entire Creative, Digital and Media Community in Greater Manchester.

“This has been demonstrated by the diversity of companies entering from across the region. We are very proud of our awards and how they have grown.
