Two employees take the reins at Staffordshire agency 884 Communications

James Garrison and Charlotte Bennett, 8848 Communications

Marketing and communications agency 8848 is now under new ownership after two of the company's longest-serving employees carried out a management buyout.

James Garrison and Charlotte Bennett, who have worked at the agency for a combined 20 years, have taken the reins after embarking on a phased buyout of the firm based in Slade Heath, near Cannock.

Mr Garrison takes over from Hazel Roche as managing director while Ms Bennett has become client services director.

Ms Roche founded 8848, previously known as Connect PR, alongside Robert Hampton in 1999 and she will continue to assist the business as a consultant following the deal.

Mr Garrison said: "Charlotte and I are excited to have completed this deal and look forward to building on the agency's reputation for delivering outstanding results across content creation, social media, digital, PR, video, creative and marketing.

"We will continue with our unwavering commitment to providing the best possible service to our strong client base across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

"Under Hazel's leadership, 8848 has grown to become one of the most respected agencies in the region, working with blue-chip national brands, and we look forward to continuing the success story."
