Unemployment is creeping up across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ as companies battle with the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many businesses - from major corporates to young start-ups - are being forced to make job cuts in a bid to stay afloat.

Redundancies rose at their sharpest rate in the three months to July, according to data from the Office for National Statistics, and were 58,000 higher than at the same time last year.

But it’s not all bad news; the number of º£½ÇÊÓƵ job vacancies increased significantly in July and August as the Government eased restrictions on non-essential shops, pubs and restaurants.

Although the number is still far below pre-crisis levels, more than 169,000 vacancies were placed in the first week of August, according to the Institute for Employment Studies.

But which companies are still hiring? BusinessLive takes a look at some of the major º£½ÇÊÓƵ companies that are currently recruiting. (Last updated September 18).
