Lufthansa resumes flight from Birmingham Airport

German carrier is among airline operators to recommence services

German airline Lufthansa has become the latest to recommence services from Birmingham Airport.

The company has resumed daily flights this week between the city and Munich after they were paused because of the coronavirus crisis.

In total, 198 weekly flights have now restarted across the Lufthansa network from six º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Irish airports to nine destinations across Europe.

This latest move follows last month's announcement by Jet2 that its summer programme of flights and holidays had returned to Birmingham Airport.

It is serving 33 destinations this summer from the airport including in Greece, Turkey, Spain and eastern Europe.

Separately, Stobart Air, operator of Aer Lingus Regional, is to launch a new service between Birmingham and Belfast City.

Commencing on September 14, there will be up to four return flights per day, joining its other Irish routes to Dublin, Cork and Shannon from Birmingham.
