A fast-growing North West animation firm is celebrating reaching 100,000 customers – and predicts it will hit 200,000 this year.

Viddyoze’s technology allows people to create and use their own video animation in three clicks and has created a generation of new video-makers during Covid-19.

The Preston-based business achieved record turnover of £1.8m for the month of May and is trading at an annual revenue rate in excess of £24m.

Co-founder Jamie Garside said the lockdown had seen Viddyoze grow its customer base by up to 20,000 a month as companies of all different sizes turned to video-making.

Mr Garside, who founded Viddyoze in 2015 with David Chamberlain and Joey Xoto, said: “It took us around four-and-a-half years to hover around the 100,000 mark but having reached that milestone we think we’ll hit 200,000 active users within six to eight months in spite of the global impact of Covid-19.

“One trend we’ve noticed is that a lot of SMEs have joined the platform along with larger enterprise customers. They include personal trainers, nutritionists and kitchen companies. It’s across the board.

“Another thing we’ve identified is that companies that previously hired someone to make a video on their behalf are choosing to do it themselves and allocate that marketing budget elsewhere.

“We democratise content creation so our technology has helped create a generation of video-makers.”
