Life sciences firm opens new hub in Birmingham

Cambridge Healthcare Research says it plans to create up to 40 new roles at its research centre in Bull Street

Cambridge Healthcare Research has opened a new research centre in The Lewis Building, Birmingham

A life sciences consultancy has opened a new base in Birmingham where it plans to create up to 40 jobs.

Cambridge Healthcare Research, which has teams in London and Cambridge, will use its new home in The Lewis Building as a dedicated research centre.

The hub in Bull Street will house analysts focussed on delivering research projects for a range of º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and international clients operating within the life sciences sector.

The firm will add to the region's growing presence in the sector which includes four medical schools and a new dedicated campus on the former Battery Park site in Selly Oak.

Matteo Perucchini, chief executive of Cambridge Healthcare Research, said: "Combining a deep STEM talent pool, unrivalled connectivity and affordable office space, Birmingham ticked all our boxes when it came to selecting a location for our first office outside of the traditional life sciences 'golden triangle'.

"We're looking forward to contributing to the rise of the West Midlands' life sciences ecosystem while delivering exceptional research projects for our clients from our new Birmingham base."
