Companies with operations all across the North West have made a series of new top hires and promotions over the last week.
The likes of private equity firm LDC, Interpath Advisory and Praetura Investments have made high-profile moves as well as Plus Dane Housing, Watling Real Estate and evec.

Praetura Investments
Manchester-based Praetura Investments has announced the appointment of Caroline Flagg, Peter Marsland and James Rochfort to its business development team.
Partner Jon Prescott said: "We are delighted to have attracted people of Caroline, Peter and James' calibre to our business and I am excited to be working with them again having previously been part of the Octopus team.
"They are joining the existing business development team at an extremely exciting time and their appointments reflect the significant growth the business has undergone over the past five years. 2023 has been particularly exciting to date with the launch of Praetura Growth VCT in June."
Baron & Cabot
Baron & Cabot has welcomed Daniel Pennington to its Manchester office as its new head of sales for º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Europe.
Most recently, Mr Pennington worked as head of sales and marketing for the NPP.
CEO Mark Pearson said: "We are delighted that Daniel has joined our team. Baron & Cabot is growing rapidly and requires the best staff in leadership, sales, and operations.
"Daniel is a huge step towards our goal of being the largest direct º£½ÇÊÓÆµ property sales company in the world. Daniel will be responsible for building out the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ office."
Steven Hunt Associates
Steven Hunt Associates has announced a leadership change.
Steve Hunt has moved from managing director to CEO. He has been succeed by Neil Baines, who has been at the firm for almost 25 years.
Mr Hunt said: "Having founded the company in 1989 at the age of 24, it has been my absolute pleasure to have overseen year on year growth within the industry, with the business now firmly an established trusted industry-leader. Our success is in part due to our consistent pursuit of excellence and commitment to meeting our clients' needs."
arch.law
Law firm arch.law has appointed Jonathan Patterson as its first chief operating officer.
He joins from DWF Group where he has worked for the last nine years in a number of roles including managing director of innovation and ventures.
Prior to DWF, he was head of business development at Addleshaw Goddard.
Founded in 2021, arch.law now has over 80 members and nine hubs across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London together with Australia and Canada.
Plus Dane Housing
Plus Dane Housing has announced Natalie Rose as its new director of customer experience.
She said: "I am excited to join the team at Plus Dane. While there are plenty of challenges for the housing sector right now, I am passionate about creating positive experiences for customers, making them feel valued, and working to improve our services across our communities."
BDO LLP
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has named North West partner Hamid Ghafoor as its new national head of social housing.
The assurance and advisory partner takes over the role from Phil Cliftlands, who has recently been appointed as regional managing partner at BDO in the South East.
In his new position, Mr Ghafoor will be responsible for overseeing all regional social housing teams, monitoring and maintaining high service levels, while continuing to lead many of BDO’s largest social housing audited entities.
Azets
Andy Reddington has joined Azets after 19 years at KPMG.
He said: "I am thrilled to be joining Azets as the company continues to grow. We have a brilliant team here in the North West region, that is full of talent and I'm looking forward to working alongside colleagues in the area, as well as across the national Azets' audit team.
"We also work with a wide range of clients and I’m excited to continue to support them."
MHA Moore and Smalley
The corporate finance team at accountancy and advisory firm MHA Moore and Smalley has added Rob Richardson.
Mr Richardson, who has been in the profession for over 30 years, joins the firm from Azets where he was a partner and head of corporate finance in the north.
He will be based primarily at MHA Moore and Smalley’s Manchester office supporting clients across the North West.
Watling Real Estate
Watling Real Estate has recruited Callum Clark from LSH to join the firm's Manchester office.
Mr Clark joins as an assistant surveyor to assist with agency and restructuring advisory work.
Watling Real Estate was created in June by a management buyout of the real estate restructuring division of Avison Young.
Re:Volve Real Estate
Re:Volve Real Estate has appointed a new chartered building surveyor to its team.
Andy Heath has joined the 13-strong property and asset management business based in Wilmslow, as a senior surveyor, following a stint at CBRE.
The firm, launched in July by Anna Main, manages assets valued in excess of £350m
Kingdom Systems
Kingdom Systems, part of Kingdom Group, has added to its senior leadership team with the appointment of Paul Worsley as director of service for systems.
He said: "Joining Kingdom at this time in their momentum of success is an exciting challenge and at the right time in my career.
"Providing a best-in-class service to clients across the board aligns with my own personal remit."
Interpath Advisory
Interpath Advisory has announced the arrival of six people, including two associate directors, to its Manchester office.
Peter Crompton has come back to the Manchester office after spending a number of years working with the firm's restructuring team in London.
Zoe Swerling joins as an associate director in the firm's value creation practice while Sam Hibbert has joined Interpath's debt advisory team as manager.
Also joining the restructuring team is Fay Dugmore, who arrives as an associate while Martyna Trzaska and Adam Bolton have both joined as part of the Interpath graduate scheme.
evec
EV business evec has appointed Tom Bloor as its new managing director.
The company was founded in 2022 and is part of the For Everyone Group in Manchester.
He said: "Taking on this new challenge is a testament to the progression that our incredible team have delivered. Our goal is to make EVs accessible to everyone. That starts with price but also extends to the simplicity of installation."
LDC
LDC has promoted John Clarke to partner in Manchester.
The private equity firm has also appointed Endrit Gashi as investment manager in the North West.
