The new residential arm of a Derbyshire business group has reported a surge of inquiries for its latest development.

Ivygrove Homes, part of the Ivygrove, is currently developing the former Derbyshire County Council highways depot, in Duffield, which has been a village eyesore since it was vacated five years ago.

It put the first phase of the four and five-bedroom homes on the market just two weeks ago and despite the coronavirus lockdown has received more than 350 inquiries.

The development, in Derby Road, which has been named Burley View, will consist of 14 new-builds, as well as the renovation and extension of the original depot gatehouse.

Ivygrove Group has already made a big impact in the commercial development sector. It is now hoping to do the same in the residential sector through Ivygrove Homes.

Group chairman John Blount said: "Ivygrove Homes’ policy is to continue to provide prestigious residential homes within small, select developments across the Midlands.

"We are a family company and we are building eye-catching family homes.

“Burley View is an opportunity to breathe life back into a part of Duffield which had become something of a blot on the landscape following the closure of the highways depot.

“It will follow our core company ethos of constructing in a high-quality manner that complements or restores surrounding architecture.”
