Organisations all over Wales have announced a string of high-level appointments and promotions in the last month, including Deloitte, the Welsh Rugby Union, and the Football Association of Wales. In our latest jobs round-up, we take a look at some of those who have taken on new roles.

Haydale Graphene Industries
Advanced material group Haydale Graphene has appointed Patrick Carter as chief financial officer.
Mr Carter joins the Ammanford-based firm from previous senior roles at Aukett Swanke, Charteris and at a number of private equity-backed renewable energy companies.
Haydale chief executive Keith Broadbent said: “I am very pleased to announce Patrick's appointment as Chief Financial Officer. As we continue to move further along our commercial journey, Patrick is a strong addition to our leadership team to ensure our absolute financial focus. Having his legal skills in house will also be a major plus as we continue to grow as a company.”

Swansea Business Improvement District
The founder of one of Swansea’s largest law firms has been appointed as the new chair of Swansea Business Improvement District (BID). Peter Lynn, a commercial lawyer and founder of Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors, takes over from outgoing chair Juliet Luporini.
Swansea BID represents over 800 businesses in the city centre. It is governed by a board of voluntary directors, made up of private, public and third-sector representatives from the BID area.

Mr Lynn said: “I am thrilled to have been appointed to the role of chair within Swansea BID. Having been a BID director since 2015, I have seen first-hand the excellent work the team undertake on a day-to-day basis, and I am proud to chair the organisation as they enter an exciting period in the city's development and history."
Chief executive Russell Greenslade said: “[Mr Lynn] has been an integral part of the Swansea business community for many years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication to our city's prosperity.
“Peter's extensive knowledge and experience in the legal field, combined with his deep understanding of the local business landscape, make him an ideal choice for this crucial role.”
He added: “His commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth within our business community aligns perfectly with Swansea BID's ethos, and having had the privilege of working with Peter as a BID Director over the last seven years and during this time I have witnessed Peter's impactive contributions firsthand."
Deryn Consulting
Welsh public affairs consultancy Deryn Consulting has made five new appointments to its growing team. The company has taken on four new members of staff in its monitoring and research team and appointed Dr Georgina Bensted as a public affairs account manager.
Dr Bensted has previously served as senior researcher for the Conservative group in the Senedd for several years and led on health research and policy for the group for nearly a decade.
Director Cathy Owens said: “This latest year has been another record breaking one for us at Deryn for many reasons, having just celebrated our 10th birthday, won a fifth national public affairs award and continued our year-on-year growth.

The Construction Hub Academy
The Construction Hub Academy has made four new appointments.
The Barry-based construction training business has appointed Carys Ackerman, who has previously worked for JP Training and Arc Plant & Civils Training, as training manager. While Chase Westwood has been promoted to the role of operations manager and will oversee the instructors in the business.
Daniel Rossiter has also been appointed as assessor and Megan Ackerman as office administrator due to the growing demand for training courses.
Director Chris Rosser said: “These appointments come at a crucial time for the business as we have seen demand for our courses almost double in the time we have been based at our purpose-built site in Barry.
“We are on a mission to upskill our candidates by providing a best-in-class opportunity to increase their skills in the construction industry in Wales. We have an amazing, dedicated team here at the academy and I am sure along with the additional support from Chase in his new role, Carys, Daniel and Megan will be great additions to the team.”

Welsh Industrial Development Advisory Board
Economy Minister Vaughan Gething has appointed Trefor Owen and Owen Derbyshire to the Welsh Industrial Development Advisory Board (WIDAB).
The board provides advice to the Economy Minister on issues relating to the Welsh economy, including on individual projects requesting support of over £1m from the relevant schemes with the Economy Future Fund.
Mr Owen is a former director of land management with 海角视频 and European experience of large-scale land management, climate transition and adaptation. He was previously responsible for the long-term care and sustainable management of Scotland’s national forests and land.
Mr Derbyshire is the chief executive of Keep Wales Tidy. He previously worked for S4C as director of digital and marketing and, prior to that, worked at a number of technology businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Football Association of Wales
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has appointed Alys Carlton as the first ever female chair of its board, succeeding Sony executive Steve Dalton.
Welsh speaker Ms Carlton began her career in London as a corporate lawyer with magic circle firm Allen & Avery, before returning to Wales to work for Cardiff-based commercial law firm Capital Law. She currently runs her own business providing coaching, mentoring and strategic advisory services to senior leaders globally.
The FAW has also appointed Sameer Rahman, who has set up numerous companies and held senior roles with firms such as Gocompare and the Royal Mint, as an independent non-executive director. He is currently also a board member of Glamorgan Cricket.
Chief executive and FAW board member Noel Mooney said: "“In Alys Carlton, we bring a strong legal and leadership lens to our board. Carol Bell will remain with the board for a new term bringing huge financial management experience and sustainability experience, and chairing our finance, audit & risk committee. Meanwhile, Sameer Rahman has great data insights and commercial background with experience across Welsh sport.”
Welsh Rugby Union
Former managing partner of professional advisory PwC in the 海角视频, Richard Collier-Keywood, has been revealed as the first independent chair of the Welsh Rugby Union. Mr Collier-Keywood, who was also a global vice-chair of PwC, has been a senior adviser to the 海角视频 Government's Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
As part of an overhaul of the union's governing body, Alison Thorne, whose current roles include chairing the National Dance Company Wales and Barcud Housing Association, has also been appointed as a new independent non-executive director to the board.
Ms Thorne from Penarth, who has a commercial background in retail, is also a former chair of equality charity Chwarae Teg. Her other non-executive roles include being a board member at Sport Wales, a governor of Cardiff Metropolitan University, and an independent panel member for public appointments for Welsh Government. Her love for rugby stems from her father, Tony Thorne, who was a groundsman at the former National Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park in 1970s & 1980s.
The two are expected to take up their roles next month. Mr Collier-Keywood will oversee the process of appointing a new chief executive of the WRU, a role currently held in an interim capacity by Nigel Walker.
Deloitte
Accountancy firm Deloitte has appointed its first female practice senior partner for Wales and the south west of England. Lizzie Hill, a tax partner and member of the Deloitte Private executive group, is the first woman to hold the role locally.
Ms Hill brings over twenty years' experience supporting privately-owned companies and has been instrumental in growing Deloitte Private. She takes over the practice senior partner role from Martyn Gregory, who was in the role for nearly ten years and oversaw three transformational acquisitions in the region including Keytree in Port Talbot.
Ms Hill said: "I am thrilled to take on the role of leading Deloitte’s Wales and south west of England practice. I recognise the importance of Wales as a devolved nation with a unique identity and I’m looking forward to meeting more of the fantastic individuals and businesses that call this beautiful nation their home."
