Here is the latest appointments news from some of the biggest businesses from across the East Midlands:
Innes England
Commercial property agent Innes England has welcomed new associate director Kartar Soar to its Nottingham office.
Kartar joined the building consultancy team in January after moving from Birmingham, where he was a qualified building surveyor with Savills, having joined the firm in 2018.
Prior to that Kartar spent a year with Prologis in the regional project management team, dealing with multi-million-pound sites such as RFI DIRFT – regarded as the 海角视频’s most successful intermodal logistics park.
Having studied at Trent College and Nottingham Trent University, Kartar said he was keen to return to Nottingham with his young family.
He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Innes England and the team in Nottingham.
“When the opportunity came to discuss the work and the future of the firm, it was hard to resist – the business has such a great reputation.

Wells McFarlane
Two new professionals have been appointed at Lutterworth-based chartered surveyors and property consultants Wells McFarlane.
Chrissy Feenan, an associate of RICS, joins as commercial asset manager, while Beata Gostynska joins the management accountant team.
Working alongside directors Andrew McFarlane Holt and Jason Hercock, Chrissy will oversee management of the firm’s commercial properties.
She said: “My background is residential lettings but after spending 15 years working in this sector, I decided it was time to challenge myself with something new and I retrained as a surveyor, becoming an associate last year.

“When I saw the vacancy at Wells McFarlane, I was excited to apply as the firm has such a diverse portfolio I knew it would provide the variety and interaction I was seeking.
“Happily, I was right and I’m enjoying getting to know my new colleagues and clients.”
Beata will support head of accounts Abigail Wood by managing a portfolio of landlord and tenant accounts.
She said: “I’ve always found commercial property to be an interesting industry as no two days are the same – my work involves dealing with independent landlords, limited companies and partnerships with everything from individual properties to entire business parks.
“I’m also in the middle of studying for my accountancy (AAT) qualifications and being able to learn from Abi is a huge benefit.”
Bea and Chrissy’s appointments follow a sustained period of growth for Wells McFarlane and the firm is still recruiting.
ThinCats
ThinCats, the alternative finance provider to mid-sized SMEs, has announced the appointment of Rajeev Raichura as chief financial officer.
Rajeev brings nearly two decades’ worth of finance experience to the role, having previously worked at IBM, Experian, Capita, and Equifax Group.
He joins ThinCats from FTSE company LSL property Services plc, the 海角视频’s biggest mortgage and protection distributor, where he was group finance director of the financial services division.
Rajeev will be based at Thincats’ office in Ashby-de-la Zouch.

Russell Scanlan
Nottingham-based independent insurance broker Russell Scanlan has appointed a new account handler to its private client team, as the 140-year-old business continues to manage increasing numbers of clients across its service delivery divisions.
Rob Newman joins the firm with over 40 years’ experience of the insurance industry, and with specialist knowledge of SMEs, individuals and entrepreneurs.
Rob said: “I have known about Russell Scanlan for many years as it is such an established business within the insurance industry with an impressive reputation.
“Having known previous colleagues who have taken up a role there, I had already heard of what a great company it is to work for and the friendly atmosphere of the team prior to applying, so naturally I knew it would be the perfect fit for me.
“I’m excited to be taking on this new role in the private client team.
“This is a new challenge for me, I’m looking forward to progressing my knowledge in the high-net-worth field and strengthening the team with my extensive insurance experience.”

Purpose Media
Full service marketing agency Purpose Media celebrated national apprenticeship week following the appointment of its 15th apprentice and the promotion of two former apprentices to senior roles.
Josh Donell joined Purpose Media first six years ago, and Olly Torrance the following year.
Both have followed a structured career development plan gaining work experience in all areas of the business before settling into their preferred specialism.
Josh found that his passion lay in front end development where he is now a senior developer, and Olly rose through the ranks to senior SEO strategist.
Purpose Media’s latest apprentice is Alli Howland who joins on a digital marketing apprenticeship.
The company has also strengthened its content team following the appointment of Olivia Beesley who has a degree in professional writing with media studies from The University of Derby.
She joins from an event management and magazine publishing company where she was a marketing manager.

Viridis
Sustainable building services firm Viridis has strengthened its team in the East Midlands with a trio of new hires.
The passive environmental experts have added Juan Muro, Sophie Sleight and Matt Bartlett as environmental design engineer, design engineer and environmental design technician respectively.
Juan – who started his career in his native Mexico before moving to the 海角视频 to complete a masters in renewable energy and architecture at the University of Nottingham – will help deliver low and zero energy designs for the firm’s customers, analyse proposed materials and energy generation technologies to help them reduce their carbon footprint.
Sophie joins the team straight from her studies at the University of Lincoln, where she graduated with a degree in interior architecture and design. Her role will see her developing innovative and creative solutions with a focus on sustainability.
Matt will be building on his experience as a project manager for temporary structures in the events industry to Viridis, where he will be working on a variety of projects, including churches, property developments and educational facilities.

M-EC
Technical development consultancy M-EC has made a trio of appointments at its Leicestershire head office.
The three new hires will take up roles in its acoustic air, civil engineering and structures departments.
Associate structural engineer Lance Poole joins the structures department with 40 years’ engineering experience, both in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
Lance brings broad built environment expertise to M-EC and a wealth of experience in structural steelwork, in-situ and pre-cast reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures.
Acoustic consultant Adam Walker joins M-EC’s acoustic air department from his previous role as an acoustics engineer at a global engineering consultancy, where he worked on a variety of projects.
He gained a degree in music technology from De Montfort University, before moving into engineering, having spent five years travelling the world as an audio systems engineer with a range of different bands.
Civil engineering technician James Brant comes to M-EC with six years infrastructure and design experience across a number of civil technician and engineering roles.
James joins M-EC’s civil engineering department as a specialist in works/private drainage design.
M-EC director Alex Bennett said: “It is an exciting time at M-EC and we are really pleased to welcome three new team members to further strengthen our civil and structural engineering and acoustics offer.”
WestBridge Group
WestBridge Group, which provides specialist tax advice and independent administration, consultancy, and trustee services for Small Self-Administered Pension Schemes (SSAS) has strengthened its technical team following the appointment of Janet Corbett as senior technical leader.
Janet has worked in the pensions industry for over 30 years and joins Leicester-based WestBridge SSAS having held senior pensions administration roles with Michael Ambrose Group and other leading SSAS providers.
Reporting to the head of pensions, Janet will be responsible for dealing with complex technical queries from account managers.
Janet said: “Having previously worked with other members of the WestBridge SSAS team I am looking forward to helping the company build on its reputation as well as helping our account managers develop their competencies and manage their client portfolios in a way that is both customer focused and efficient.”
NG
NG Chartered Surveyors has strengthened its team with chartered building surveyor Paul Rogers joining as a director.
Paul has more than 20 years experience in commercial building consultancy, gained both in London and in his hometown of Nottingham, having previously worked for the largest independent commercial property management and building consultancy company and most recently at Innes England, where he was director.
Paul has extensive experience across the full spectrum of both project work and professional instructions through the property life cycle from initial due diligence to disposal.
He said: "Building consultancy naturally complements NG’s established property management, professional and agency services and will be a boost to clients who already benefit from NG’s director-focused experience.
Safe and Sound
Safe and Sound, a charity that specialises in supporting children, young people and families across Derbyshire who are victims of or at risk of child exploitation, has appointed a new chairman.
Mark Richardson, a partner at commercial property agents BB&J Commercial in Derby, has been a trustee of the long-established charity since 2020 and takes over the role from previous chairperson Allen Graham.
Mr Richardson said: “Child exploitation is an issue which many people understandably find difficult to deal with so find it easier to ignore. Sadly, the fact is that now more than ever it is an issue that needs to be recognised.
“I have greatly valued the opportunity to learn more over the past two years about Safe and Sound’s work and was keen to take on more responsibility to lead our committed and talented board of trustees.
“My focus is to support the CEO and management team in further developing the services that we offer to help children, young people and their wider families who have been affected by child exploitation positively rebuild their lives.
“I particularly want to see Safe and Sound even further embedded within the local and regional business community.”
