A superyacht furniture maker and a cheesemonger known all around the world are among this year’s North West recipients of the King’s Awards for Enterprise.

The awards aim to honour the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s best businesses and their role “in growing our economy to improve lives”.

Of 197 awards announced this year, 24 went to businesses in the North West – with 17 recognised in the International Trade category, six for Innovation, and one for Sustainable Development.

There are recipients from the region’s thriving chemicals, digital and manufacturing sectors – as well as from firms showcasing artisan food production.

Gareth Thomas, Minister for Services, Small Businesses and Exports said: “There are some exceptional businesses from the North West recognised in this year’s King’s Awards for Enterprise: from Createc’s cutting-edge sensor technology to myHappymind’s inspiring work improving the mental well-being of children.

“I wish the winners every success as they continue to grow, innovate and prosper, and commend the invaluable contributions they have already made to communities at home in the North West and abroad, helping to boost the º£½ÇÊÓƵ economy.”
