An insurance company is targeting growth of more than 20 per cent after almost doubling its workforce in the last 18 months.

Amb Insurance Services Limited has taken on five staff since the start of the pandemic in 2020 and has invested more than £40,000 into the business.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme-based firm, which now boasts a 12-strong workforce, spent more than £20,000 upgrading its IT infrastructure and a further £20,000 refurbishing its Hillcrest House offices, in Wolstanton.

Now the company is on track to grow by 22 per cent in 2021.

Operations director Peter Lycett said: "We were nervous when the pandemic broke out, but everyone adapted really well.

"We all had our challenges with working from home and childcare etc, but we all stuck at it and still managed to grow by 20 per cent.

"We saw the pandemic as a time to invest within the business. We've been in our offices in Wolstanton for 10 years now and they were overdue a refurbishment, so they were given a fresh lick of paint, we also put in new lighting, new computers and new desks in preparation for our team's return to the office.
