Inspired Energy, the energy procurement consultant to º£½ÇÊÓÆµ corporates and SMEs, has reported a “robust” start to the year, with an increase in first-half revenue and gross profit.
The Lancashire-based firm saw revenue increase 33 per cent to £21.56m for the six months ended June 30, up from £16.24m reported for the first half of 2018.
Gross profit increased by 35 per cent to £18.56m, up from £13.27m, while profit before tax increased 55 per cent to £3.32, up from £2.09m.
Adjusted earnings before tax were also up 35 per cent, from £6.53m to £8.79m.
The firm highlighted the performance of its corporate and SME division as both sustained organic growth during the period.
Inspired Energy CEO Mark Dickinson said: “Concluding 2018 with the Inprova acquisition was a significant strategic milestone for the group.
“2019 has continued at pace with the acceleration of our next growth phase, further complementary and value-enhancing acquisitions completed in parallel with sustained organic growth.”

Dickinson said the group has carried positive momentum into 2019, with clear strategy to build on success in the remainder of 2019 and beyond.
“Ensuring we maintain a market leading service for our clients is key as we continue to drive the business forward, whilst broadening our service offering through complementary acquisitions,” he added.
Post period end, the group has acquired of Waterwatch º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Limited, which provides water audits for businesses, for a consideration of up to £500,000, paid for by the group’s cash reserves.
